NUMBER ONE SATISFACTION

Serbian Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has said that becoming the no. 1 tennis player in the world gave him immense satisfaction. He said that it was not easy to become the top ranked tennis player in the world. He revealed that he had seen the dream of becoming world’s no. 1 way back when he was just 4 years of age. According to Djokovic, he is playing in such a period which is dominated by the two legends of the game i.e. Roger Federer and Rafel Nadal.

Djokovic said that at one point of time, people had started thinking that it is literally impossible to remove Roger Federer from the no. 1 spot. But, Rafel Nadal did that. And when Nadal reached at the no. 1 position, people said that he would stay there for years. As per Djokovic, to become the no. 1 player in the playing era of Federer and Nadal was very hard. Djokovic said that earlier he used to think that it is impossible to win a tournament in which Federer or Nadal is playing. But, one day, he thought that he would have to go through Federer and Nadal anyhow if he had to become the no. 1 player in the world. He said that since that day, there had been a lot of change in his attitude and he started thinking differently.

Djokovic said that to reach at a position where he is now, he had to change his lifestyle completely. He said that he didn’t use to take care of his diet in his younger days. But, as he grew up, he started taking food according to the advice of the nutritionist. He said that he has also worked pretty hard on his fitness. According to Djokovic, to remain fit is necessary for a player.

Djokovic must Salvage Season at US Open

For any professional tennis player, a win at the Australian Open, a final defeat to the King of Clay at the French Open and a semi final defeat to one of the legends of tennis might be considered as components of an extremely successful season but Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic is not just any tennis player and even on the back of such brilliant displays, there is no room for satisfaction for the 25 year old as he is on the verge of relinquishing his world number one crown to Roger Federer if the Swiss Maestro manages to defeat Andy Murray to claim his 7^th Wimbledon title.

RIVALRY IS GREAT

World number 1 Novak Djokovic has claimed that the rivalry currently enjoyed between himself and Rafael Nadal is great for the tennis. This era of tennis is already regarded as perhaps the best the sport has seen, with levels of skill and fitness never before reached as well as some of the best individuals ever.

Federer holds the record for the most Grand Slams ever won, and the competition he had to deal with from Nadal was breath-taking. But now, their struggle has been relegated by the emergence of a new number one men’s player – Novak Djokovic. Nadal upped his game and has become the Serb’s foremost challenger, meeting him in every Grand Slam final in the last year, while Federer has dropped to third, not quite being abel to keep pace with the younger players this time.

“Federer and Nadal have still, I think, the biggest rivalry in the sport, because they have been at the top for so many years, they have been so dominant,” said Djokovic. “I just joined that rivalry recently, a couple of years ago. “I think the sport is experiencing some really good times now. We’re attracting a lot of attention to men’s tennis because we have these two great players, and Murray, myself, and we really have some great players, some charismatic players, a lot of personalities. This is good for tennis.”

The recently completed French Open at Roland Garros was the first time for a while that Nadal has managed to best his rival, but if there was anyone, anywhere who was going to put a stop to Djokovic’s attempt at holding all four Grand Slams at once, it was Nadal in Paris. The Spaniard added the seventh French title to his trophy cabinet, making him the most successful player there in history. But for a while this seemed in danger of slipping away from him. He won the first two sets – and no-one has ever beaten him from this position – but then Novak reacted and won 8 games in a row, giving him a commanding hold on the fourth set. However, the rain interceded at the point, and gave Nadal a welcome reprieve, which he made the most of by breaking back, and eventually winning both the set and the tournament.

Djokovic is still at the top of the men’s game by quite a margin, despite this setback, and it will take some extraordinary play to stop him in the next few Grand Slams. This won’t worry Nadal too much though, as he faced the same situation with Federer and overcame the difficulties. Whatever happens, it should be another year of stunning tennis from the top three players in the world.

Djokovic Talks up Wimbledon Hopes

Novak Djokovic feels he is in peak condition going into Wimbledon, as he looks to defend the title he won last year.
The Serbian won his first SW19 title with victory over Rafael Nadal in 2011, a year in which he dominated and moved to the top of the rankings.

Djokovic has already collected the Australian Open title, this year, and reached his first French Open final, before losing to Nadal.

Djokovic leading new era of men’s tennis

Novak Djokovic who is currently ranked as the greatest player in the world, prepares to begin his campaign to secure his fourth straight Grand slam victory to become the first man for 43 years to hold all four grand slam victories at the same time, which would be achieved within a fortnight at the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris. The success of Djokovic has been pretty impressive as he has hit the peak of performance over the alst two years which included an astonishing forty three game unbeaten run before losing to roger Federer at the French open semi-final in 2011.

There is little doubt that the Sebian is the hottest property in tennis at the moment and on electric form on the court.  The Serbian has caused a growing belief that he has become the leader of a new era in men’s tennis as he has now beaten Rafa Nadal seven times in a row when securing his Australian open. This run will now be tested as the Spaniards success in Paris is unrivalled as he searches for his seventh victory here. Djokovic has much to do to secure this heroic victory.

The world number one remains confident of his ability to secure his fourth consecutive grand slam believing: “My mindset is always positive and I’m always expecting from myself a lot.” The Serbian has piled pressure on himself a number of times in his career and has always seemed to lift himself to the big occasion. The question that remains is can he do it again on his most hated court type against Nadal who appears unbeatable when it comes to the French Open? Whatever happens it should prove an exciting tournament for the fans.

DJOKOVIC LEADS THE WAY

A Serbian professional player, born in the year 1987, Novak Djokovic has been ranked number one by the Associate of Tennis Professionals since July 4^th 2011. His winning records and streaks are as worthy of awards in themselves.  Novak Djokovic has won five grand slam awards – the 2008, 2011, 2012 Australian Open, the 2011 Wimbledon Championship and the 2011 U.S Open Championship.

What makes Novak Djokovic special is that he is the only Serbian player to have won the Major single title and also one of the youngest players to have reached the semifinals of all four grand slam events consecutively.

Novak Djokovic began his winning season in 2012 by winning the Australian Open.  Novak Djokovic won three rounds against Paolo Lorenzi, Nicolas Mahut and Hewitt.  In the quarter finals of the same tournament, Novak Djokovic won against David Ferrer, and in the semi finals Djokovic beat Andy Murray before taking on former champion Rafael Nadal in the Final.  The match went on for around six hours when finally Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal by 7-5 in the final set.

Apart from all of this, Novak Djokovic was also named as the 2011 ITF World Championship, and was rightly named by Boris Becker as one of the very best tennis players in a long time.  What’s more – even Rafael Nadal (who has been defeated by Novak Djokovic on many occasions) has described Djokovic’s as a top class performer.
